this is a post-Xmas and pre-New Year dinner with the Loke's family, Koh's family, Kenneth and Chun Yen. hey, last year we went to same place too.

since Lil Ariel complained that we did not buy her any present, we bought her a Braun hand blender. well, she may not be able to use it herself, it's for her food.

I had been mashing her veggies and meat manually every weekend for the past few weeks. it's really tiring especially mashing those french beans and broccoli. so poor Ariel had to eat the same veggie and meat for the whole week. now with the blender, I managed to blend chicken meat, broccoli, french beans, potato, carrot and spinach in 2 days (1 day if the handle did not become very hot). she can have different combination of veggies everyday. moreover, Daddy found it so fun that he helped to blend too. of cuz, the washing up is still done by me.

HO HO HO!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

this is my first Christmas since I was born. Mummy and Daddy brought me to church to celebrate last night. actually last year they did the same also, just that I was still swimming in Mummy's tummy. see the picture, I was only 5 months in her tummy then.

at first I was very happy to see so many people around, but soon I got more and more sleepy. I want to take a nap, but there were too many things to see and people around me started singing, I don't want to miss that out. so I became very grouchy. eventually I was too sleepy to care about anything and fell asleep. actually Mummy had warned to take a longer nap during the day, but I refused to listen. bleah.

I received quite a number of presents. most of them are clothes (I got more clothes than Mummy and Daddy) and toys from Granny and Grandpa, uncles and aunties. AND I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY FROM DADDY AND MUMMY!! HMPF!! I'm angry!! they went to shop for christmas pressies for uncles, aunties, kor kors and jie jies, except for me!!

been at Granny's place for 2 weeks already. things are fine for me so far. but that's because Mummy was with me all the time. next week Mummy will leave me there with Granny alone in the afternoon to allow me to accustom to not seeing her. she is also taking this chance to pack the stuff (cuz we're moving house soon) and going out with Auntie Kris and Auntie Huiling. poor Mummy did not have time for herself since I was born.

I've been talking, grumbling and laughing a lot these days too. the adults were so entertained by that. Granny says she could not handle me alone cuz I'm too active. so Great-Granny will look after me together with her till we got a maid.

Daddy took leave today to send his car for servicing. silly Daddy asked the person to install the visor, in the end we waited for a long time to collect the car. I really enjoy going out with Daddy and Mummy!!

we started to bring her to her granny's place on Monday.

man, it's tiring to wake up at five-ish in the morning and to get ready her stuff to bring over.

she was able to adapt to the environment quite easily (keeping my fingers crossed). first couple of days she was unable to nap long and rather afraid of Scooby. soon it was Scooby's turn to run away from her when she goes near him. she was not afraid of his barkings also. hopefully she'll be able to maintain that even I'm not around.

great granny, granny and grandpa were very entertained by her. I'm sure she'll be very well-loved by them.

Daddy and Mummy

brought me to another wedding lunch on Saturday. this time is Mummy's secondary school classmate, Uncle Patrick. very coincidentally, Uncle Patrick was Daddy's Sunday school classmate. hoho. Mummy was happy to see her old classmates again. Mummy's classmates also said I'm a good girl cuz I did not fuss a lot. Except for a little while cuz I was sleepy, but I fell asleep soon after. they were also worried that the loud YUM SENG will wake me up. guess I was too tired that I managed to slept through it, with Daddy covering my ears.

then Sunday, they brought me to visit Grace mei mei. she was just 1 week old only. her Mummy, Auntie Geraldine is Daddy's colleague. when we reach the place, mei mei was still sleeping. her parents placed her near the window to get a nice sun tan. when she woke up, she was looking for her mummy cuz she was hungry. Daddy and Mummy keep telling me that she's very cute. I AM SO JEALOUS!! so I pretended to be not interested in her.

Smelly Poo Poo

hah... I know the title sounds disgusting. but I still wanna jot this down so that next time if Lil Ariel bother to read this, she will realise how 伟大 her mummy is. when I'm old and with limited mobility, hopefully she'll do the same for me too. read on only if you feel comfortable.

her poo is getting smellier (unlike her past innocent and odourless ones) and more solid. this is because she has started on more adult food, which result in more adult poo. most of the time I had to hold my breath to change her diaper. somemore she always move and wriggle around, so it's quite messy if I'm not fast enough.

actually I thought of putting a picture of it here, but guess it's not of much viewing pleasure.

you realise that there are cushions around her playmat? cuz this playful girl likes to crawl and move out of the mat. she's still an amateur in using her limbs, so she'll topple and hit her head against the floor. Daddy Sam didn't want her to be as 傻傻 as her mum, so we put these soft barriers around.

anyway, to prepare Lil Ariel to adapt to staying at her granny's place, we'll be bringing her over everyday in December. hopefully she'll slowly get used to seeing her dear Mummy lesser. I think I'll miss her badly for quite some time.

anyway, I can't leave little Ariel out of my sight when she's awake anymore. she'll be crawling, climbing and exploring everything around her. coaxing her to nap/sleep is even harder now. she'll sit up, look at the direction of the living room, trying to get out of the bed, reach for the things at the headboard, do everything except lying down to sleep.

but she is more interactive and fun to play with as compared to 6 months ago. I love to see her smile when I play peek-a-boo with her, hear her laughter when I kiss her. she's also more and more aware of her surrounding and people around her. aww... looking how much she has grown, I realize that she'll leave me and start her own family one day. that makes me feel sad and old.

oh by the way, our Pinnacle@Duxton is halfway through le!! can see the first sky-bridge without the linkage between blocks. but our unit is still not there yet.

1st Wedding Dinner Attended

attended Auntie Angie and Uncle Joe's wedding dinner at Marriott. Auntie Angie is Daddy's uni classmate. Auntie Angie and Uncle Joe had been dating for 8 years and finally tied the knot last saturday. erm, we're an hour late, but fortunately the dinner had not started yet. while both of them were worrying how late we were, I was happily playing with Mummy's necklace in the car. I could have strangle her. haha..

anyway, this is the first wedding dinner that I attend and there'll be more to come. Daddy and Mummy was quite happy cuz I behaved myself except for a few threatened cries. everyone was saying that I'm cute, even the photographer can't resist taking a few more pictures of me. anyway the dinner ended at 11 plus, so Daddy and Mummy did not go church the next day.

Mummy was hoping that I can walk by next May for Auntie Elmo's wedding. She promised to lend me to Elmo as flower girl. mwhahaha, then Mummy will get me a nice dress with a tiara.

oh.. and Auntie Claire is back in town for a week. initially I could not remember her and starts to frown when she carried me. she must have felt bad. but now I'm happy to play with her before I go to sleep.

ARGHHH...

our TV is spoilt!! no image just the sound.

called the TV repairman to come this evening to fix it. hopefully can make it for the 8pm show on Ch55. mwhahaha... imagine me at home without TV?? next best candidate, the radio. cannot stand the house to be too quiet. of cuz there's still Lil Ariel's cries and laughter.

Ariel is 6 months old le!! another 6 more months, we'll be celebrating her 1st year birthday. we decided (yeah, a bit early) that her 1st year birthday celebration will just be a small homely affair with just the 3 of us celebrating. don't think she'll know/remember/enjoy a lot of people celebrating for her. some more it's too much of an hassle to look for location, caterer and all other preparation. of cuz we'll still welcome all the aunties and uncles who want to celebrate with us. BUT there won't be food catered, just the cake. haha

Daddy Sam took leave on Thursday and Friday. he brought us to Waraku, StarHub centre branch on Thursday. the food is YUMMYLICIOUS!! the environment was conducive enough for Lil darling to fall asleep on my shoulder. one of the waitress keep coming over to play with Lil Ariel even when she was already sleeping. then she said, "oh, she's sleeping!!" WHAT THE HELL, isn't it obvious. still wanna wake her up, duhz. I thought to myself.

after that, we went to Ikea to get a table for our lappy. Friday was uneventful. stayed at home and wait for Angelina YiYi to come and collect the winter clothes.

waking up in the middle of the night for the past few weeks. the result, Mummy not getting enough sleep. boo hoo...

I'm looking forward to Daddy Sam's leave. think he had to clear some of it, but he has not decided when. he promised to bring me to this Waraku (or Waruku?) restaurant and shopping!! heard quite a few good comments about the restaurant that I want to try it out.

I'm drained. I'm tired.

I'm drained of worrying why she is not gaining weight fast. whenever I see other chubby babies of her age, I envy. I know all babies are unique and different. but still I wish... I dread bringing her for check-ups.

I'm tired of coaxing her to drink formula milk. everytime I was hoping for miracle that she'll be able to finish her bottle milk without fussing, crying; only to find disappointment over and over again. whenever I see other babies finishing they milk quietly, I envy. I should not compare, but still... who can comprehend my disappointment?

insensitive comments at the wrong time can drive a person insane, stir up suppressed emotions. they're catalysts to an overdue break down.

I tried, but I guess I'm just not good enough...

2nd last jab

brought Lil Ariel for her last 6-in-1 jab and rotavirus vaccination on saturday. Dr Chan gave the green light for giving Lil Ariel solid food, like porridge, cereal etc. so excited, I can make REAL food for her le. hopefully she can gain more weight this way.

so we went to get a set of utensils for her food. cooked plain porridge for her that day and she seems to like it. *keeping my fingers crossed* the next day we cooked cod fish porridge for her. if she's cleared of the allergy monitoring test, I'm going to introduce sweet potato!! :D

Uncle Kapil: I place her on our bed, so no barricades. I did put pillows and bolsters around her, but I don't know how she by-passed them and ended up on the floor. :-/ yeah, she inherited the clumsiness. hehe

Ariel fell off

from the bed yesterday!! heart pain again.

she was having her usual afternoon nap on our bed when she gave a sudden loud shrill. when I dashed into the room, I found the bed empty and she was lying one the floor crying. I will remember that helpless look on her. I quickly picked her up and calm her down.

then I gave Daddy Sam a call and we decided to bring her to Mt. A.

the doctor did a general check on her head and other body parts and found no obvious injury. he said she need not have an x-ray as she was very active. however, on the safe side we requested for a x-ray to be done.

thank God that there wasn't any fractures or blood clots, but still got to monitor her for any unusual behavior for the next 24 hours.

btw, her x-ray images reminded me of the ultrascans of her when she was still in my tummy. how big she has grown from that time. aww...

oh yes, please pray for me that she'll be fine.

Poor Lil Ariel

had her first hit on her head against the floor yesterday.

*actually she hit her head against other places before, e.g my protruding teeth, chin, shoulder etc.

she was crawling happily out of the mat. before I can pull her back to the mat, she rolled over and hit her head against the floor. the poor gal wailed so hard that my heart broke. BUT she went smiling away when I carried her. she's becoming more and more mobile/ Daddy Sam and I have to be extra watchful over her. even when she's sitting in the bumbo chair, she'll use her arms to try to push herself up and out.

well, other than hitting her head, she choked on her milk when I was bottle-feeding her. my heart broke the 2nd time on the same day when I saw the milk (with some mucus) came out of her tiny nostril. we adult will feel damn uncomfortable when the liquid we drank come out of our nose. Lil Ariel must had felt terrible, if not she won't be crying so hard when that happpen. LOUSY MUMMY!!!

Mummy caught up with her a bit on the latest news and gossips. actually Mummy is afraid that she'll lost touch with everything while looking after me. haha

中秋节快乐

today is 中秋节. Lil Ariel's first 中秋节. did not get her any lantern though. too young to play with it.

anyway, asked ah wang to help me get some mooncakes from office last week. there was a bizarre for mooncakes, like every other year. I never failed to get some durian mooncakes from Mariott. I simply LOVE them!! yummy!! also got some traditional ones from Tung Lok for our parents and champagne truffle from Raffles Hotel.

Cranky Me

I have not been behaving like my usual self lately, especially at night. :(

daytime, I'm making Mummy crazy by refusing feeds... yeah, again.

night-time, I'm making Daddy and Mummy crazy by refusing to fall asleep by myself. I want Daddy to carry me to sleep. I'll wake up and cry once he tried to put me on the cot. actually I just want the comfort of Daddy's or Mummy's body near me. I'm scared of being alone all by myself at night. it's sooo dark and scary.

Ariel is finally

drinking her formula from bottle!! though she still cannot finish a whole bottle of 100ml, she can at least finish 50ml to 60ml. I was sooooo HAPPY!!! hope she can slowly able to finish one bottle of milk.

however, naughty Ariel woke up at 3+ in the morning and refused to sleep till 5am. poor Daddy and Mummy had to coax her. she was talking and crying all the way. duhz.. we were still wondering how come nowadays she don't talk much; and now she's doing that in the middle of the night. silly girl.

btw, Lil Ariel is 5 months old le!!! :D

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

yeah!! today is Daddy's birthday!! but poor Daddy fell sick. I can't play with Daddy even though he's at home.

Mummy felt bad that she did not get anything for Daddy. cuz she have to look after me and cannot go out to buy pressie for Daddy. when we go out together, Mummy ask Daddy to choose a pressie and she'll pay, Daddy say he don't want anything. haiz... silly Mummy, didn't you realise that giving birth to me and looking after me, making sure that I'm healthy and happy is the BIGGEST pressie for Daddy??

I think I'm teething, cuz my feeding became erratic and the schedule is a bit screwed up. Mummy felt helpless. she's pissed that I nurse for awhile and start crying; get hungry again after an hour or so. on the other hand, she knows it's not my fault. all she can do is to pray that this will be over soon. but I still love Mummy even though she'll nag at me when she's pissed. cuz most of the time, she always make me laugh. hee..

Lil Ariel is getting

more and more mobile. Daddy Sam and I saw her trying to crawl, er, I should say drag her body on the mat. haha.. he was sooo HAPPY seeing her doing that for the first time. but she was quite uncooperative. when I tried to film it, she just stop all actions.

and yes, we got our camera back!!!

finally Lil Ariel get to see Auntie Ah Yen on last Friday. cooked lunch for her, ended up with a scolding from Auntie Kris and Ah Wang. mwhahahahahah. oh, THANK U for your pressie oh!! Muackz!!

Being a Stay-At-Home-Mum (SAHM)

happened to browse through a forum thread on SAHM not getting the respect they deserve. though I'm just a temporary SAHM, I'm fortunate enough not to get despised. I do get comments like 'WAH, so good, can stay at home, don't have to work. ', 'can wake up late.'. yes, life is good, in the sense that I get to see my lil one grows, get to see her learn new tricks. but not in the sense that I don't have to work.

Stay-At-Home-Mums, does not mean being a mother staying at home and DOING NOTHING. they still got to attend to their children's needs, coach them, do housework, etc. not to forget SAHMs actually lost their earning power, which means if they want to buy something for themselves, they have to think twice. and they also miss out a lot of social activities.

however, I'm not saying that Full-Time-Working-Mums' life is easier. they too have to work and after work, they have to look after their children. they lose out to SAHM cuz they can't stay by their little ones 24 hr a day, 7 days a week and watch them grow. all in all, being a mother is not easy.

given a chance, I'll wish to be a SAHM as long as I can. but financially, I can't :(

I've lost

all my shopping skills. argh... Daddy Sam is very happy about it. i guess i've stayed at home too long. more than once, when i step into a shop, i see a lot of things. but they all just make me very dizzy. i don't know where to start and ended up leaving the shop in less than 2 min.

Happy Birthday Mummy

Daddy and I celebrated Mummy's birthday yesterday. Daddy purposely took leave for this occasion. how shweeet right? we wanted to bring Mummy for high tea at Marina Mandarin Hotel. but my silly parents did not check if they have it on weekdays, which unfortunately, they don't. in the end we ended up eating dim sum at It's Dim Sum, Marina Square. the place was quite empty, which is good for us, cuz I will fuss unexpectedly; and I did. when I got bored with Daddy's carrying, I wanted Mummy to carry. so they have to take turn to carry me. hoho.. they can't eat in peace in the end. we walked around at the area for a while. and Mummy ended up bugging Daddy to buy a baby carrier.

Auntie Ah Yen bought a Star of David from Tiffany & Co. Mummy hinted to Daddy about that. but Daddy as usual pretended not to catch the hint.

friends of Mummy and Daddy, you may realise that there are not many photos recently. this is because the recently bought camera is SPOILT. Daddy and Mummy are still fighting over whose fault is it. cuz, Mummy put the camera in the pouch but did not zip it up. Daddy took it and the camera fell out from the pouch and hit the floor. can u all help them to sort out whose fault?

anyway, finally they brought the camera back to the Sony shop to fix it today. we passed it to Auntie Serene's husband (he's working at the J8 outlet). hopefully it will be repaired soon.

Daddy is going for reservist for the next 2 weeks. hope he'll have a FUN time. :D

Daddy gave Mummy a surprise today!! he ordered a bouquet of flowers and delivered to our place. I think is for her birthday tomorrow. Daddy took leave to celebrate her birthday. she's looking forward to it!! so am I!! :D

brought her down to Singapore Baby and Child Clinic for her monthly jab on saturday. she's 5.25kg heavy and 61 cm long. still kinda tiny. Dr Chan gave the go ahead for very diluted rice cereal. her silly Daddy thought is those cornflakes. haha

Ariel's FIRST National Day was spent at Ritz Carlton. many thanks to Uncle Peter who invited us to watch the parade at the hotel room he booked. actually he asked us to stay over cuz he booked an extra room. however, we're afraid that Ariel will not be able to sleep in new environment, we had to reject his kind offer. we wanted to take photos of the fireworks. but silly Mummy was snapping away until the battery went flat halfway thru the parade.

anyway Lil Ariel enjoyed the fireworks a lot. she was watching them quietly with eyes and mouth open.

actually don't know is it considered or not. cuz she did it when she was semi-conscious. after feed her this morning, she was half-asleep, so I placed her on her bed. she turned to her side and curled up like a prawn. before I can straighten her, she flipped over with her face buried in the pillow. she then quickly lift up her head and look around as if wondering what had happened. I quickly woke Daddy Sam to see. but she did it only once. :-/
