Ariel's New Hobby

Ariel is getting bigger and bigger. I can feel it, literally. her movements are getting more and more obvious. i love those little movements but her kicks can be painful. that day when her daddy was feeling her movements, she gave his palm a kick!! hoho... my belly button is popping out too. i was hoping that it will be flat like Auntie Huiling's, but... well, i think it is Ariel's doing. she must be so bored with her umbilical cord that she starts playing with my belly button, by poking it out.

went for check up last tuesday. Dr See Tho said everything is fine. i think he got to rush for a delivery, so the checkup took less than 15 min. he even forgotten to print Ariel's scan for me. : ( never mind, the next visit will remind him to print.

collected my glasses yesterday. dear hubby says they look nice on me, but I suspect he said that to stop me from bugging with him the same question again. I got them for my delivery. I realise I cannot be looking for my contact lenses with the contractions that I'll be having and when I'm rushing for the delivery. my old pair can only be wore at home and not out of the house. so, i got the new pair. anyway, I can claim from my company :D

Waiting to go Home

Ariel and I are waiting for her daddy to come and fetch us home. i think Ariel is protesting, cuz she is kicking me non-stop as if telling me, "Why daddy is not here yet? Hmph!"

looking forward to tomorrow's check-up. supposed to be today. daddy could not make it, thus called to change the appointment to tomorrow. cannot wait to see little Ariel again.

tonight got the show "First Step" on channel 8, 10:30 pm. must remind myself to watch. :D

It's a Saturday...

the stuff we bought from Robinson arrived this morning. another winnie the pooh bedding set, anti-dust mite mattress, both from Baby Safe and a Graco playpen. we placed the order last Friday. after that I realised the sale starts from the next day. argh... anyway, what's done cannot be undone.

went for the 2nd class of the antenatal course at TMC. today Mrs Wong supposed to show us the video on the administration of epidural. however I guessed she had forgotten and showed us the twin breast-feeding video instead (she showed this last week). if not I think dear hubby will freak out. I almost freaked out when I saw the show "First Step" on channel 8. the syringe was so thick and I was not supposed to move an inch when the anesthetist do the injection. that very night, i dreamt of myself in labour using epidural. anyway, Huiling assured me that the contractions will be so strong that I will not even bother about the injection in the spine. :-S

i have been making sure that i feel Ariel moves at least 10 times a day. so as to make sure that she is doing fine. so far she has been quite active, especially in the morning, late afternoon and before I go to sleep.

100 more days to go. waiting patiently for her... :D

1st Antenatal Course Lesson

attended the antenatal course at TMC this afternoon. I had been looking forward to this course for the past few weeks. I heard about the course from the Singapore Motherhood forum. one of my colleagues who attended the course was also full praise on the course. so I went to sign up for the weekend classes.

my trainer, Mrs Wong (she's quite popular as I've been seeing her name appearing in the forum and she appeared in some TV programs on pregnancy before), is good. she makes the lesson very interesting and at the same time very informative. learnt more about Ariel today.

looking forward to the next lesson which is next week Saturday.

Chinese Name

Ariel's chinese name is 芮莛 (Rui Ting), means tiny stalks of grasses. I really hope she'll be like them, though tiny, they are actually very strong and play an important part in our lives. :D

initially I thought of using 瑞婷. her daddy commented that too much strokes (though I think I'll be the one writing her chinese name most of the time), so I decided not to use that. 芮莛 looks nicer also.

Happy 2007!

year 2006 comes and goes. welcome year 2007!! Ariel's birth year.

recently I've been having backaches. especially when standing for a long time. leg cramps in the night are getting more and more frequent. dear hubby keep saying that I sound like a crow when I scream. Dr See Toh suggested wearing socks to keep my feet warm. but I prefer to sleep bare-footed.

daddy cleared up the room next to ours to prepare it as Ariel's playroom. though we have not buy any toys yet. hopefully they will be provided her uncles and aunties (got my hint??) *grinz*

little Ariel has been stretching, kicking, flipping and somersaulting every now and then. however when her daddy places his palm on my tummy to feel her, she'll stop all her movements. maybe she finds her daddy's touch comforting or just playing hide-and-seek with him. mwhahah

oh yeah, from now onwards, dear hubby will be fetching me from work. I don't have to squeeze with other commuters in the train (no one has offered any seats for me so far). awww...
