Ariel had joined a playgroup!

Lil Ariel supposed to start her 1/2 day playgroup last Monday. however, she still had not recovered from her flu, so I postponed to this week. we had been telling her about going to school and meeting new friends. she was pretty excited about it.

so I took leave on Monday to Wednesday, cuz the principal said I could stay with her throughout for the first 3 days. on the first day, she happily joined the kids and occasionally looked for us. she was curious about the place and would wander to other corners to check them out. there were some children doing their homework there, she also went to peek into their pencil cases. she even asked for more 2 more servings during lunch.

on the second day, she was chanting 'Ariel go Appleland' after her breakfast. my MIL decided to go to the market instead of joining us. Lil Ariel happily followed the teacher to look for other kids when we reached there. I stayed there for a while and decided to "disappear". she did not look for me. when I finally appear during her lunch, she just smiled at me. the teachers were telling she is a good girl.

so I decided to cancel my leave for the third day. my MIL told me that she was a bit clingy when she saw that the breakfast served was chee cheong fun. then the teacher asked her if she wants to look for Isaac, she followed. however my MIL realised she seemed very hungry when she brought her back. hmmm...

anyway, when my MIL asked her if she wants Ali Baba or Isaac. she said Isaac. '''-_-

Bento #4 and Bento #5

Friday I went to Daiso (Vivocity) after work, hoping to get some bento accessories. once I was there, I zoomed to the kitchenware section and got all of these!! at $2 each!! Lil Ariel was equally excited when she saw all these. she made me open all of them up for her to play. '''-_-

this is her Saturday bento breakfast... I tried to make a star egg using the one of the new egg molds. it ended up looking like a flower. when I put the egg inside, there were still some more space. the egg is tad small for it. mwhaha...

her Sunday bento breakfast... the 2 objects below the eggs are actually pizza made of bread, cheese and ham. this girl really dislikes bread. she dug out the hams and left the bread alone. they ended up in my mouth.

anyway, we brought Lil Ariel to West Coast Park for lunch on Saturday. after that headed to the children playground there.

she was a bit lost and thinking what to play...

then she decided to play with the wheel inside the shade... btw, she hates the sun. she will frown and act as if the sun rays are hurting her badly.

Bento #3

my MIL told me that Lil Ariel will be very excited to see what's inside her bento box every morning (okay, just these 2 mornings so far). she cannot wait to open it up. I feel so happy just by hearing that. actually I should have realised that earlier. whenever I take out her thermal food container during lunch when we are outside, she is always very eager to open it up. she is indeed one curious baby.

Kris knew that I'm into this hobby now, she volunteered to lend me the Hello Kitty and My Melody egg mold she bought sometime ago. however the instructions on the box were in Japanese, so we could not understand what it says at all. so I asked Mr Google and he taught me how to do it.

I had to put the de-shelled hard-boiled egg into mold straight after I take out from the pot. meaning, it is so freaking hot! then lock the mold and put it into the fridge straight away for 5 min. being a tad kiasu, I left it inside for 10 min. haa... then I proceed to cut the apples, cheese and arrange her bento box. anyway when I took out the egg from the mold (I used the Hello Kitty one today), and found out that the Hello Kitty I made got NO EARS!! *gasp* haha... poor kitty, maybe she prefer to hear no evil? blame the picture that is printed on the box. I think I will try putting the egg the other way round next time.

Bento #2

yesterday I went to Taka to see if I can get any acessories and guess what I found? the moulds for Pooh, Piglet, Mickey, Minnie, Miffy and Miffy's bear!!

so I used the Pooh's mould for her cheese and bread today. they look abit plain though. I wanted to use Nutella to fill out the eyes and nose. but I was running out of time!! I think I gotta wake up another 10 min earlier.

I'm looking for those nori (seaweed) cutters so that my egg figures don't look so scary. however it seems that they are very very rare in SG and I heard that even Daiso does not have it too. where can I find them? I guess I gotta go eBay again!!

Bento #1

yeah, my latest hobby; making bentos for my Lil Ariel. firstly, they are so cute. secondly, I'm actually hoping the nicely arranged bentos will trigger her appetite. yesterday I dragged Ling and Wang to Kitty Palace at Novena Sq to look for bento box. I found 2 that I like, but settled on the cheaper one. I'm still hoping for a kind soul to contribute the other one.

when I showed her the bento box at home, she was very happy. she wow-ed when taking it out the box from the plastic bag and even said "Thank you Mummy". that makes my $17.95 worth it.

anyway this morning, I woke up 20 min earlier than usual to prepare. boiled the quail egg while I showered. the happy face on one half of the egg was cut the night before (I mean the seaweed). however, I found one eye missing this morning. so gotta cut another one and since I'm cutting another eye, might as well cut one more face right? so there is the angry face. I told Daddy Sam that the happy face is me and the angry face is him because he is always so grouchy in the morning. hoho...

btw, my MIL just messaged me that she ate the egg, milo balls, 1/2 of the plum and pulled out 1 piece of cheese. well, at least she ate the one with the most effort put in.

Going Sentosa via cable car

after 2 weeks of staying at home on Saturday, Daddy decided to bring us to Sentosa... again... this time we are taking the cable car!!

initially we wanted to take from Mt Faber, so that we can stay longer in the cable car. we could not find a parking lot (though after that all of us realised there's a carpark at Jewel Box), so we ended up going to Harbour Front. over there, we realised the trip will include going to Mt Faber first then to Sentoso. Woohoo...

Mummy legs were turning jelly, cuz Daddy chose the full glass cabin.
