yesterday I thought to myself, "yeah! finally it's Friday tomorrow!!" but alas, in the wee hours of the morning, I heard Lil Ariel groaning and whining in her sleep. not sure how long it lasted (you know, when you are in a half-conscious state, you can't really estimate the duration accurately) until I finally did something. so I put my hand over her body with my eyes closed. when my hand reached the forehead, my eyes sprung opened. her forehead felt warm, really warm!! I was hoping that it's because my palm was cold due to the cold air (this is quite unlikely though).
I searched for the thermometer in the dark. when I realised that my eyes are not those of an owl, I borrowed the light from my handphone. I finally found it chucked beside a stack of papers/brochures/magazines/letters/bills. her temperature was 38.8. that is high!! I quickly woke Daddy Sam, who was still sleeping like a log throughout, up. he suggested giving her panadol, which I would have thought of if I was given more time.
I came back from the kitchen with 2ml of panadol in a syringe and one Pigeon cool pack. Lil Ariel was already half-woken up by Daddy Sam, so I shot the panadol into her mouth. I knew she wouldn't want to cool pack. so when she was lying beside me, I pasted it cool pack on her forehead. she protested, but I refused to remove my hand from her forehead. I guess she was too sleepy to continue the protest after a while.
so from 4am, I did not really sleep, checking her every now and then. that explains why am I a zombie today. hopefully her fever will go away. she just recovered from her cough and cold last week. haiz...

Yabado, Ichi Sa(Ya) and Gorjilla
these are the imaginary scary creatures that I came up with to prevent her from wanting to back to the living room when it is night-time. in a desperate attempt confine her in the bedroom one night, I blurted something like this, "you better not go to the living room cuz Yabado is just outside." she gave a blank look. so I told her it is something very scary. she stopped wanting to go out. this is actually not a good way as it will slowly diminish her sense of security. as days go by, she'll lose her confidence and self-worth. so I told myself I won't use that anymore.
BUT sometimes when you realise by doing or saying something that will let you achieve what you wanted, you will keep doing it. so when Lil Ariel refused to let Daddy Sam leave the room at night (if Daddy Sam is around, they will be playing instead of sleeping), I used the excuse that "Daddy needs to fight Yabado".
few nights ago, Lil Ariel had a bad dream and woke up crying. when she saw Daddy Sam beside her, she commanded him to go out and "fight Yabado". she probaby dreamt of Yabado - I wonder how it looks like in her dream. poor Daddy Sam had to hide under the blanket and I hugged Lil Ariel to sleep. when Yabado don't do the trick, Gorjilla (evolved from Godzilla) and Ichi Sa(sometimes become Ichi Ya when I forgotten is Sa) will step in to help. it is a bad habit to kick, I will try not to use that again. but I know I will still use it during desperate moments when she wants to go to the living room and look for her grandma. -_-

hello!! the lack of posts is due to the Mummy Celeste being
1) busy
2) lack of enthusiasm
3) stress (from everywhere)
4) lack of the necessary equipment
5) other 1001 reasons
Lil Ariel already showed her TERRIBLE TWO symptoms, e.g. insisting of getting what she want (at home and outside). even using other incentives to distract her did not help. it is so bad that even her ever-doting Daddy Sam lost his cool to yell at her a few times. when we're outside, she insisted running around in the crowded Marina Sq. she will just sat on the floor and cried, when we disallowed her. Mummy Celeste is an advocate of no-means-no logic, so Lil Ariel has never gotten her way most of the times.
after that, Mummy Celeste will try to reason out with her. she seemed to understand. an example of the conversation goes like this...
Mummy Celeste: do you know why was Mummy angry with you?
Lil Ariel: (nods her head) cos Aiel dole wan o ands. (translation: cuz Ariel dont want to hold hands.)
Mummy Celeste: yes, there are a lot of people. what if they knock onto you?
Lil Ariel: Aiel balls down. (translation: Ariel falls down.)
Mummy Celeste: that's right darling. Ariel falls down, how? (<- yeah this is a very bad English sentence structure.)
Lil Ariel: Aiel cry. (translation: Ariel cries)
Mummy Celeste: so what must you say?
Lil Ariel: tolly Mummy, tolly Daddy. (translation: sorry Mummy, sorry Daddy.)
anyway that day I asked her to pose for the camera..
is she aspiring to become a model?
haha... just to show off some dishes/bentos I made for her the past few weeks.
bought these Disney pasta from Da Paolo Gastronomia gourmet shop at Great World City. They have Mickey Mouse family and the Pooh family, colourful types and the plain types. Lil Ariel, to my (double) surprise, chose the plain Mickey Mouse one. I thought she will choose the colourful Pooh one.
finally got a chance to use the star-shaped rice mold.
shell pasta in tomato sauce. Lil Ariel don't quite like dry pasta. she prefers the soupy kind.
I spent nearly 20 minutes on the flowers and the unappreciative girl just dug out the hotdog and left the egg petals aside. in order not to let my effort gone to a waste, I ate them up.
she finished ALL of these. yay!!!
